The joint effort of scientists from the group of Prof. Iva Tolić from the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, the group of Prof. Marin Barišić from the Danish Cancer Research Center in Copenhagen and the group of Prof. Nenad Pavina from the University of Zagreb has resulted in new knowledge about the role of kinetochores and microtubules in the formation of spindle bundles and the movement of chromosomes during cell division. The work was published in the journal Nature Communications.
The experiments were carried out by young researchers Jurica Matković and Mateja Ćosić from the Tolić group and postdoctoral researcher Susana Eibes from the Barišić group, while the theory was developed by postdoctoral researcher Subhadip Ghosh from the Pavin group.
