A spindle is a miniature machine that separates chromosomes during cell division and is the focus of research for leading scientific groups worldwide. Thanks to Prof. Nenad Pavin from the Faculty of Science at the University of Zagreb and Prof. Iva Tolić from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, top scientists from around the world have gathered again for the third edition of the international conference “Mitotic spindle: From living and synthetic systems to theory”. This year, the organizers chose the city of Dubrovnik as the host, and the conference was held from April 16 to 19, 2023. The conference featured a total of 16 invited and 20 thematic lectures, as well as 36 poster presentations. Attractive topics, new research results, and a dynamic exchange of ideas among leading scientists in the field attracted over 85 registered participants.
