The European Research Council has just announced the list of the prestigious projects awarded under the Synergy Program. These are projects that bring together the most respected researchers across Europe and the world, those who have proven excellence in their field of research. Thanks to ten million euros prof. Iva Tolić together with prof. Nenad Pavin from the Faculty of Science in Zagreb, prof. Geert Kops of the University of Utrecht and prof. Angelika Amon of US MIT will investigate the mechanisms of chromosome division errors and their impact on cell division, which is critical for embryonic development, the formation of different types of cancers, and tissue response to therapies.
